VO₂ Max Testing

VO₂ max testing measures your body’s ability to deliver and utilize oxygen during exercise and is one of the strongest indicators of aerobic fitness. For athletes, understanding your VO₂ max allows for more precise training, helping you set accurate intensity zones, track adaptations over time, and target workouts that improve endurance and efficiency. Beyond performance, VO₂ max is also a powerful marker of long term health and longevity. Higher aerobic capacity is strongly associated with reduced risk of cardiovascular disease making VO₂ max testing a valuable tool not just for training smarter, but for investing in lifelong health.

Lactate Testing

Lactate testing identifies how your body responds to increasing exercise intensity by measuring when lactate begins to accumulate in the blood. This information allows us to pinpoint your individualized training zones, including aerobic and anaerobic thresholds, so your training is both effective and sustainable. For athletes, lactate testing removes guesswork, ensuring workouts are appropriately challenging without unnecessary fatigue. From a health and longevity perspective, efficient lactate clearance reflects strong metabolic function and cardiovascular health, making this test a key component in building resilience, improving performance, and supporting long term well being.

  • VO₂ max testing is performed in studio at Cyclemania using the portable VO₂ Master system, allowing for accurate data collection while you ride your own bike in a controlled environment.

The VO₂ Master’s lightweight mask provides lab quality results without the need for bulky equipment, making the testing process efficient and comfortable. All you need to bring is your bike, cycling shoes, and kit – everything else is handled in studio. Whether your goal is optimizing training, tracking fitness changes, or gaining insight into a key indicator of longevity, VO₂ max testing offers actionable data to support both performance and lifelong health

  • Lactate testing is performed in studio at Cyclemania using the Bio-Nova Lactate Plus, a reliable handheld analyzer that allows for precise, real-time measurements throughout the session.

After a warm-up, you’ll complete a series of short intervals at increasing power levels, with wattage tailored to your fitness and goals. At the end of each stage, a quick finger or earlobe pin prick is used to measure blood lactate before progressing. This data allows us to accurately determine your aerobic and anaerobic thresholds and establish personalized training zones.

All you need to bring is your bike, cycling shoes, and kit.
